Music in Hospitals & Care

Music in Hospitals & Care is a charity providing live music for people in healthcare settings across the UK. Our sessions are designed to humanise clinical settings, reach and connect people, encourage communication, meaningful interactions and evoke emotions and memories when it matters most.

Since 1948 our aim has been to overcome barriers which prevent people, regardless of their health or wellbeing, from accessing the therapeutic benefits of live music. We deliver almost 5,000 live performances and music sessions a year, bringing ‘Joy Through Live Music’ to over 90,000 beneficiaries. Our sessions in care homes, day centres and hospices bring joyful memories and special moments for those living with dementia, their families and care staff. Our specially selected professional musicians perform old favourites, encouraging audience participation and creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. After the performance, they stay to chat with the audience about how the music made them feel or the memories it has sparked.

To arrange a live music session please contact your local office, fill in the online form at https://mihc.org.uk/live-music/book-a-concert/ or email hello@mihc.org.uk
